Photos

I'm quite a visual person, and I never cease to be amazed by the beauty of the world around me. The paintings of Roger Dean and Gilbert Williams I find very inspiring and relaxing, and I've often got their prints on my walls. Films such as Legend and The Lord of the Rings also inspire me with their wild locations and keen photography.

I do enjoy visiting the countryside with a view to collecting things - it's the hunter-gatherer nature in me - and taking photos I find very satisfying. I'm particularly drawn to surfaces and textures, delighting in pattern and chaos.

I find the use of outdoor photographs in websites brings a breath of fresh air. I particularly like unbounded photographs with give you the feeling of actually being outside, and not just looking through a window.

In 2005 one of my photos of the North Devon coast won the wildlife category award in a competition organised by the North Devon Coast and Countryside Service.
